INTRODUCTION OF A TOLL-FREE LINE

The Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA) is mandated under the Gaming and Lotteries Act (2022) to regulate Gaming and Lotteries in Malawi. MAGLA is therefore obliged to institute responsible gambling initiatives to fulfill its legislative mandate. One of the initiatives is the introduction of a toll-free line. The toll-free line shall be used for the following:

i. Provision of information on counseling for problem gambling
ii. Lodging of complaints on gaming and lottery operations
iii. Clarification of lottery and gaming issues
iv. Initiation of self-exclusion from gaming activities
v. Reporting illegal gaming activities

For the meantime, the toll-free line can be accessed on 4252 using both TNM and Airtel Networks. This service is available from Monday to Friday from 7: 30 AM to 4: 30 PM.
